I need to know the differences between the 383 and 440 engines. What parts are interchangeable (heads. intake manifold, exhaust)??? VertChall-Alan Not interchangable: 67 satellite The heads&rockers,ex. manifolds, fuel&oil pumps, oil pump drive, sheetmetal parts, motor mounts interchange between the two.SOME accessory brackets and dampers might interchange. The rest is different due to bore/stroke,crankshaft dimensions, and deck height differences. If I missed anything someone feel free to add it to the list. 451 Jim Since the intake manifolds are different widths the valley pan and the valley pan holddowns (front and back) are different between the two engines also. The 440 holddowns can be trimmed to work on a 383 since the bolt hole spacing is the same. Blusmbl Distributor is different as well- RB block one is longer. info provided by members listed above
