Moparts Tech ArchiveBrake SystemAftermarket Brakes Anyone buy a wilwood rear disc kit?DARTMAN928 OK, so after I have ordered the ft "bolt on kit" for disc, I'am in the middle of trying to order the rear disc kit. The guy calls me says that there are two different kits for the 8 3/4 axle. He said the measuring difference is in the hundreths or thousands. Can anyone help explain this to me? I thought that all 8 3/4 axles would use the same part number for a disc kit. =========================================== I have a Wilwood kit on my 8 3/4, I think you'll find the difference is due to the style of bearing you are useing, the only part that seems to be different is the caliper mounting bracket which also keeps the wheel bearing in place. some bearings have a snap ring to locate them ( sometimes referred to as "Moser" type) whilst others (including The standard taper style) don't, you need to check what you have. =========================================== I also have a Wilwood kit on mine. The difference is the bearings. Are the axles stock or aftermarket? I believe the term a lot of people use is "Green" bearing. =========================================== I have Moser axles with green bearings. What do you think? Thanks =========================================== I have the Moser axles with green bearings too, I used kit no 140-5255. Is there only one kit for green bearings with moser axles? This guy acts like there are two different part numbers even for green bearings? =========================================== I think Blue has the information, but pictures always help.
