Moparts Tech ArchiveManual & ClutchesMcCleod Clutch McCleod Street TwinHOT HEMI Whats included in a street twin setup. Can you use a Mopar flywheel? Where can I find more info and purchase one of these? Thanks ,Steve ====================================== Call McLeod directly and speak to the tech guy. Very helpful. You have to use their flywheel because it is recessed due to the added disc and plate. I've got one behind a 472. Nice easy application of the pedal, grips like a mutha. I'm using the diaphram version for the softer pedal. The dual disc seems to take the harshness out of the shift. As compared to a single disc. Probably due to the ability of the two discs and the springs to absorb the impact. I had to remove the compensation spring(the large spring under the dash), it was preventing the pedal from coming all the way up. Now works like a charm. Tim Moffett I have one in my Charger. Here's some pics of the setup:
======================================= HOT HEMI I take it the flywheel is not included in setup? What are we talking for price, and can you buy direct from McCleod? Thanks ======================================== I use one and it comes as a complete unit and yes you can buy from them, our flywheel is aluminum with a steel insert and they will rebuild the parts for you, think I payed $800 or so and have put 1200 + HP to it and use they hydralic throwout bearing. ======================================= If you call them, they will tell you what part numbers you need. I ordered a new flywheel with the discs and PP. Order from summit the PNs that they give you, I also told the sales rep at Summit that I just spoke with (Leo or Len, can't remember) and the sales rep called him so there wasn't a screw up. I don't recall what I paid.
