I'm thinking of putting one in...not that will stop a "real" car theif but it might detour a few novice wanna be punks from stealing my baby.
Now, where is a good place to put the kill switch? I don't have a locking glove box and everyone looks there first anywayz right?
Where are you guys putting yours? And no, I'm not trying to steal your rides.

Thanks,
DG

Some people hide them under the dash.
You could install one of those battery disconnects at your battery, just turn the knob and it cuts power.

Or just take your coil wire off when you leave the car!

Under the passenger's seat in my Satellite is a battery disconnect, the ignition killswitch mounted to the backside of my ashtray (which I don't use anyway).

Don't know how it was done, but I had a friend in the Army that rigged his cassette player as a kill switch. Could not start the car without a tape cassette in!

if you dont smoke, use your cigerette lighter. When you push it in, it disables the vehicle. A thief will never think of that. I did it along time ago, and it doesnt take long to wire up.

Are there any switches in your dash that don't work that you could use?

I've got one right under the dash, on the left side of the steering column. It's a toggle switch connected to the + (I think) wire coming out of the distributor (electronic ignition). When the switch is on, the positive side isn't activated, so the car just cranks and cranks, but doesn't start. I also sprayed the switch with flat black paint so it doesn't stand out.

I think if you used the cigarette lighter you would disconnect the hot wire on the back of it and it would no longer work, so if you pushed it in it would stay there until you pulled it out. The only way I could see using it would be to ground out the coil so it wouldn't start but that might be hard on the coil.
Someone else might be able to add more to that.

Hey DG, You can also run a lead from your positive coil terminal to a toggle switch on the dash (like King said) or mount the switch ($1.29 Radio Shack) in a discreet but easily accessible location. Best $1.29 you'll ever spend!
