Registered: Dec 1999 posted 04-03-2002 04:46 PM first of all, i'm gonna guess that steering boxes will interchange from a/b/e to c's. if that's true, is the diameter of the splined shaft to slide into the pitman arm the same among all the bodies? basically, i wanna know if a non c body 24:1 manual box will bolt into my fury with the pitman arm it has on it, or if it needs the pitman arm in the car, or if it needs a 3rd arm looking in the white books, it looks like c body's need a diff pitman arm to use a man box than the power one, but b's don't. tlt C-body and some vans are bigger. wayne_township that's not really what i want to hear Travis :P tlt I figured that wasn't the answer you were looking for Wish I could help you, I don't think I have any more manual boxes around anymore, plus I'm pretty sure all mine were from A or B bodies anyway. modelmakerinc a manual box out of a 81 to 88 dodge van is a direct replacement But you have to use the power units pitman arm all info provided by board members listed above.
