Description: In 1970, my father was going to order a new Hemi Barracuda convertible, but decided it was going to cost too much (about $5500), so we picked up this Hemi Charger instead for $1300. Had 30,000 miles on it at the time, now is at 118K. Originally medium metallic blue, Dad had it repainted black by Earl Shiebs in 1979, for $179.95 - I still have the receipt. I've owned the car since Dad passed away in 1984. I rebuilt the motor in 1985, and the trans a couple of years ago. All stock except for the torque convertor, a 68-69 cam, TTI 2.5 inch exhaust, 4.10 gears, and 15x7 Centerlines with 275-60-15 drag radials on the rear and 235-60-15 Radial T/A's on the front. The original 3.23 sure grip chunk is now in my 64 Polara convertible. The hole in the hood was Dad's doing; I sold the scoop he put on it, but haven't yet got around to painting the spare hood I have for it. Ran 13.35 ten years ago, with 3.23 gears and street radials; haven't run it since installing 4.10's and drag radials. The yellow car parked next to the Charger is one of two other Hemi cars in Tallahassee - Steve Pollock's one-owner 4 speed Hemi Belvedere with about 65,000 miles on it.
