70 Dart Swinger 451
I’ve owned the Dart for 2 years. I bought it from my son with the intentions of just pulling the motor and cleaning up the engine compartment, which was original and in bad shape. Our painter came over to check out what needed to be done and suggested we just “start from scratch” So, we took the car apart and began its process. Originally it had a bench seat with column shift auto. I added bucket seats, console with factory floor shifter. The dash and door metal was sanded and repainted and a new dash pad was installed. The engine is a 451 stroker with ported 906’s and a Comp hyd cam. It has ceramic coated exhaust manifolds through Dynomax mufflers. Trans is a beefed 727 and the torque converter is 3200 stall. 3.55 posi gears. The Dart was last raced 2 years ago having a sick and bone stock engine. It ran a 12.50 @ 107. gene shensky
